Sports Centre Physiotherapy is a leader in sports-focused physiotherapy in PEI. Our 3,000-square-foot facility in Charlottetown has been delivering evidence-based, exercise-driven treatments for over 30 years. Our clinic is well-respected for its high-quality rehabilitation programs, particularly in sports physiotherapy and athletic recovery.
You will be joining a dynamic team of physiotherapists, kinesiologists, registered massage therapists, acupuncturists, and physiotherapy assistants, all working collaboratively to provide top-tier patient care. We are also the official physiotherapy provider for the Holland College Hurricane Athletic program and provide coverage for sports teams across PEI. At Sports Centre Physiotherapy, our physiotherapists work closely with our kinesiologists to maximize patient care. While you focus on assessments, manual therapy, treatment planning, and prescribing exercises & modalities, our kinesiologists coach patients through their rehab programs—ensuring proper form, monitoring for difficulty, and addressing pain concerns. This model allows you to see up to three patients per hour while ensuring that each patient receives nearly an hour of guided rehabilitation—a significant improvement over the typical 20–30 minutes of clinician-only time. We feel this improves outcomes and leads to more efficient recovery.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments to diagnose and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Utilize evidence-based techniques, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, and therapeutic modalities.
- Educate patients on injury prevention, rehabilitation exercises, and long-term wellness strategies.
- Collaborate with kinesiologists to ensure patients receive extended guided rehabilitation.
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including acupuncturists and physiotherapy assistants, to provide holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and stay up to date on the latest physiotherapy research.
Requirements
- Registered (or eligible for registration) as a physiotherapist in PEI.
- Strong interest in sports rehabilitation and active patient populations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
Compensation & Benefits
- $44 per hour or a fee-for-service rate for 6 months, whichever is greater. After 6 months, compensation converts to fee-for-service only.
- Expected gross compensation for regular caseload (12 – 15 patients per day) is between $85,000 to $95,000. This scenario involves working with shared kinesiologists. With a dedicated kinesiologist or assistant, it is possible to have an advanced caseload of 15 – 20 patients per day and earn up to $105,000 per year. An advanced caseload is optional and treatment quality must remain high; it is not for everyone. A new practitioner must gain at least 6 months of experience before taking on an advanced caseload.
- $5,000 sign-on bonus (repayable to Sports Centre Physiotherapy if employment lasts less than 2 years).
- 3 weeks of paid vacation per year.

Hours & Work Location
- 40 hours per week with flexible scheduling between 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Fridays.
- Work in-person at 153 Belvedere Avenue, Charlottetown, PEI.
- Opportunities for sports event coverage as a Sports First Responder are available (optional).
